We are excited to announce a significant update to our ongoing identity graph enhancements, which was released the week of October 15, 2024. This update focused on improving the accuracy of email-based RampID associations and increasing email-based coverage, which are crucial for precise identity resolution and matching.
Key Enhancements:
Improved RampID Accuracy of Assigning Emails to the Dominant User:
We've improved how we match emails to our unique identifiers, RampIDs. Our latest tests show up to a 9% improvement in the accuracy of assigning emails to the best RampID (meaning our system is now even better at correctly identifying people based on their email addresses). This means more precise identity resolution, leading to better data quality and reliability.
Increased Email Recognition Rates:
When records include email, LiveRamp’s ability to recognize a consumer can potentially increase by 3.2%. The ability to addressably reach that consumer potentially increases by 2%. This means that when clients provide more detailed personally-identifiable information (PII), such as name, postal address, email, and phone number, we are more likely to accurately identify the intended person. This is crucial because emails and phone numbers are often shared among multiple users, and having more PII helps us pinpoint the correct individual, reducing the chances of mismatches. This enhancement ensures higher confidence in the matched identities, providing a more robust foundation for your data-driven strategies.

Is There Anything I Need to Do/What Will Change?
As part of this update, customers who receive mapping files or files in our Measurement Enablement workflow (fka FBR) may notice some changes in RampID assignments. For example, an email address that previously corresponded to RampID1 might now correspond to RampID2. You may also notice some increases in recognition rates for records containing emails. These changes are a result of our ongoing efforts to improve the coverage and accuracy of assigning email to a dominant user within our identity graph.
Key Points to Note:
No Immediate Action Required: You do not need to take any immediate action. Our system will automatically implement these updates. However, we recommend monitoring your data to observe the improvements and ensure that your workflows continue to operate smoothly.
Percentage of Change: The percentage of RampID assignment changes will be under 9%, and most likely less, depending on the specifics of your data. This means that while some changes will occur, they will be relatively minor and should not disrupt your operations.
Regular Updates: These changes are part of our regular, monthly updates aimed at enhancing the accuracy and reliability of our identity graphs. As such, they should not be significantly noticeable beyond the usual updates you are accustomed to.
