The Permissions Page

Tip

This topic has moved from Safe Haven to the Data Hub documentation. For up-to-date information, update your bookmarks.

You can use Data Hub's Permissions page to view, edit, duplicate, and revoke permissions that you previously granted on the All Assets or SQL Editor page. You can also download a spreadsheet of your permissions activity.

To open the Permissions page, click Permissions in the left navigation pane.

You can view the entire list of permissions and quickly see any upcoming expiration dates. If a permission will expire in the next two weeks, an ! icon is displayed next to its expiration date.

Viewing a Permission

You can select a permission and view details about its creation, what data asset it provides access to, change history, and collaboration rules.

Procedure. To view a data permission:
  1. In Data Hub, click ManagePermissions in the left navigation bar.

The Permissions page displays all permissions.

  2. Search, filter, and sort the list to find a permission and click on its row.

The permission's side panel displays three tabs:

    • Details: Provides details about the permission, including the user who updated it, the partner it was granted to, its status, and its start and end dates. If the permission's start date is in the future, its status is Scheduled.

    • Asset Type: Displays the name of the permissioned table or view.

    • Collaboration Rules: Provides a summary of specified query limits and data combinations.

Editing a Permission Schedule

You can edit the schedule of a permission if it has a schedule of Active, Scheduled, or Expired. You cannot edit revoked permissions. You cannot edit the start date of an active or expired permission.

Procedure. To edit the schedule of a permission:
  1. Click ManagePermissions in the left navigation pane.

  2. Select the check box for the permission you want to edit.

  3. Click Edit.

Duplicate a Permission

You can duplicate an existing permission in order to grant access to a different partner and assign new start and end dates. You cannot edit the other properties of a permission. To change other properties, such as the permissioning use cases, create a new data permission.

Procedure. To duplicate a data permission:
  1. In the left navigation bar, click ManagePermissions.

  2. On the Data Permissions page, search, filter, and sort the list to find a data permission and then select its check box. The Edit, Duplicate, and Revoke buttons are displayed.

    Note

If you select multiple permissions, the Duplicate button is grayed out because you can only duplicate one permission at a time.

  3. Click Duplicate.
