Announcing Improved Pandora first-party data integration (7/15/20)

LiveRamp has collaborated with Pandora to improve the quality of our CID-based matching with Pandora by focusing on the higher-confidence matches through a new distribution integration for Activation (first-party data) workflows. This workflow will also improve turnaround times in sending customer data to Pandora.

This improved integration uses a different Pandora destination account tile. Because of this, the previous Pandora Activation destination account tile has been disabled. All new Pandora destination accounts will now use the new Pandora Activation tile.

On September 1, 2020, all Pandora destination accounts using the previous first-party data integration will be deleted.

To continue any existing first-party data distributions to Pandora after September 1, 2020, you must activate a new Pandora destination account and add segments to distribution before September 1.

You might see a decrease in the number of matched Pandora CIDs. While this may lead to a lower match rate , the focus on matches with a higher fidelity will ensure that your matches with the new integration are as accurate as possible.

See the FAQs below for more information.

Do I need to communicate with my Pandora reps about this change?

No. Pandora is collaborating with LiveRamp on the change and is ready to support all existing and future campaigns. However, should you have any questions, Pandora is happy to assist you in any way they can.

How will this affect my Pandora matches for Activation distributions?

The number of Pandora ID segment matches may drop somewhat. We anticipate this change to improve the quality of the matches to Pandora IDs by focusing on the higher-confidence matches.

Will I see any changes in impression numbers in Pandora?

Contact your Pandora reps for any campaign-specific inquiries like this.

Will I see any changes in the matching stats in Connect?

Your match numbers in Connect may be lower, due to the reduced number of lower-confidence matches.

Why do I need to activate a new Pandora destination account?

LiveRamp is using new underlying systems to make our deliveries to Pandora more accurate and reliable. Making use of these systems requires Activation clients to set up a new destination account. However, if you no longer wish to send to Pandora, you do not need to create a new destination account.

What segments do I need to add to the new Pandora destination account?

Add any segments that you want to continue distributing to Pandora. If there are segments in your previous Pandora destination account that you no longer need, you don’t need to add those to your new destination account.

Do I need to delete my previous Pandora destination accounts?

LiveRamp will delete all Pandora destination accounts using the previous integration on September 1, 2020. You can delete your previous Pandora destination accounts before then if you like, but you don’t need to.

Does this change affect Data Marketplace distributions to Pandora?

No, this does not change our Data Marketplace workflow with Pandora, so does not affect any Data Marketplace distributions. This change only affects first-party data (Activation) distributions.
