Release Notes, August 17, 2021

Hi everyone!

Today a big Privacy Manager Android release that contains a lot of fixes, improvements and next to that, some highly anticipated new functionalities such as the ability to override the automatic presenting of the consent wall and support for sharing consent with external browser / webview pages.

Privacy Manager GDPR for Android

Version 1.1.9

New

  • We've added the ability to override the automatic presenting of the consent wall. You can now choose to show the consent wall at your own timing. This functionality was requested to make the surfacing of our custom ATT screens more in line with intro screens set in the publisher's app.

  • Added support for hyperlinking in texts for Privacy Manager.

  • Privacy Manager now supports sharing consent with external browsers within the mobile app. With this release it's possible to inject a cookie into a webview page that contains the consent preferences as set in the mobile app. More info can be found on the KB.

Improved

  • Improved the error messaging when an incorrect 'device storage disclosure' json was provided in the Global Vendor List (GVL).

  • Privacy Manager now shows whether or not a vendor in the Global Vendor List (GVL) refreshes the cookie. This piece of information can be found on the vendor details page.

  • Improved the handling of vendor legitimate interest state in relation to special purposes within the TC string.

  • Improved the button border radius for call-to-action buttons.

  • We replaced all carats with chevrons in Privacy Manager just because it looks nicer.

  • To make the UI more user-friendly we removed the possibility to drill down from the details pages.

  • For devs: We migrated from Fragnav to JetPack library for consent wall screens navigation and migrated from Kotlin synthetics to Jetpack view binding.

  • Due to changes in the IAB's TCF requirements, a note has been added to the Purpose Overview page informing users that when all purposes are disallowed, some site functionality may be affected.

Fixed

  • When Notice is disabled and the end-user clicks on the back button a dialog will be presented instead of the disabled Notice.

  • Audit logs were not sent correctly for each time consent was given when a mobile connection switched from offline mode to online mode.

  • Call-to-action buttons were showing incorrect color fonts when changing to Dark Mode.

  • "Give Consent to All" text was not changed to "Revoke Consent to All" after giving consent.

  • Organization / publisher was not listed correctly within "Vendors claiming legitimate interest".

  • Fixed an issue for 'Purpose 1 treatment'. When the functionality is now enabled Privacy Manager will not ask for consent nor disclose purpose 1 on Notice and Manager.
