Announcement: Facebook Direct Integration is Now Self-Service (10/4/23)
We’ve updated our Facebook Direct first-party data integration so that it is now self-service and no longer requires creating a support case to complete the configuration of the destination account.
Previously, when you created a new Facebook Direct destination account, the destination account immediately went into an “Awaiting Approval” state, as opposed to an “Active” state. This meant that the destination account could not have segments distributed through it until LiveRamp completed the configuration. This was a gating mechanism to assure that you had added LiveRamp as a partner with “Manage campaigns” access in Facebook for that ad account ID so we could create segments within that ad account. This required you to create a support case with LiveRamp to have us complete the ad account access process and activate the destination account.
Note
We still require you to give LiveRamp the correct permissions to the ad account ID in Facebook before activating the destination account (that process remains unchanged). For information on providing the required permissions, see “Add LiveRamp as a Partner in Facebook”.
With the release of this update, you will get immediate feedback via the destination account creation process as to whether the permissions have been properly granted to LiveRamp.
If the input ad account ID has been properly permissioned, the destination account will be successfully created.
If the input ad account ID has not been properly permissioned, the destination account will not be created and an error will return on the page stating we do not have permissions.
This “validation” of the ad account ID permissions allows for the destination account to be completely self-service if you have met the permission requirements. You no longer need to create a support case to have LiveRamp perform manual intervention to complete destination account activation.
