Announcing Twitter Disabling Ability to Refresh or Add iOS-Based Segments Starting May 14 (5/5/21)
Starting at 9:00 pm (PST) on May 14, 2021, Twitter will temporarily disable the ability to refresh or add any iOS (IDFA)-based segments to any new or existing Custom Audiences due to the launch of Apple’s new Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. Since we previously paused the distribution of mobile device ID-based segments on April 1, 2021, we do not expect this to have a significant impact on your Twitter distributions.
Note
Update 5/7/21: The original announcement said that Twitter was disabling this ability for all segments. Twitter has since adjusted its policy and confirmed that they are only disabling iOS-based segments.
Note
Twitter will continue to support segment delivery for new and existing distributions for all email-based audiences.
We expect that Twitter will restore the ability to refresh or add iOS-based segments in late May or early June. Once Twitter confirms that the functionality has been restored, we will update you.
