Announcement: Improved Behaviour for ATS and RideAlong IDs (30/05/24)

We have improved ATS for Web's envelope generation logic to enhance targeting for ATS and RideAlong-enabled implementation. RideAlong is a feature that enables other identity providers to embed their identifiers in ATS envelopes.

Note

Talk to a LiveRamp representative if you want to enable the RideAlong functionality.

What Has Changed

Previously, RideAlong IDs were not added to the envelope when ATS.js performed an envelope refresh and could only be added during envelope generation when users authenticated. We have improved the envelope generation logic within ATS.js to ensure that RideAlong IDs are always present in envelopes if RideAlong is enabled.

When a user authenticates, after every 24 hours ATS.js will now check if any new identifier is present on the page (for example, another user has logged in). If it does, ATS will generate a new envelope for that identifier and replace the existing stored envelope. This ensures more accurate ad-targetting because fresher RampID envelopes are stored in the browser.

If you are working with ATS for Web, no actions are required on your side as this update is automatically pushed to the wrapper.
