Our Policy for Medical and Health Information Publishers in EU
Content in the health and medical space gives rise to regulatory complexities in the digital advertising space, particularly in terms of data collection, including personal data within the meaning of European regulations. LiveRamp's position in regard to the deployment of its ATS solution is to avoid any collection, processing, or otherwise handling of medical data, particularly where such data can be cross-referenced with personal data and/or tied to the identity of an individual.
Only a narrow configuration of publishers’ health data content is considered acceptable for ATS deployment in the EU/UK. Examples of such publisher content include:
Websites and apps which offer news or general information related to health and well-being without ever collecting any health information about their users;
websites and apps which offer content such as news or general information related to health and well-being with express warranties to never collect any health information connected to the personal information of their subscribers
The website or app of any publisher offering health-related content is always first investigated by Liveramp’s Data Ethics team during the compliance review stage, in order to check that no association whatsoever can be made between individual-level identifiers (such as hashed emails or cookie IDs) and health data, before approving the deployment of ATS.
