Forecasting (OTT Hub)

When an audience gets built in the OTT Hub, the 7-day and 30-day ad breaks shown in the side panel of the Audience Builder page represent our forecast of the total number of ad impressions that might be shown to the members (and devices) in that audience over a 7-day and 30-day period. As the target audience changes, the ad breaks metric will change along with it.

To carry out this forecasting, we use a feed from the programmer’s ad server that includes every ad opportunity on an hourly aggregation. For a particular audience, we look at the previous 60 days of data to predict the number of ad opportunities per device over the next 7-day and 30-day periods. The model includes outlier detection.

Caution

Forecasts are meant to be a predictive metric to help guide buyer's audience buying decisions. However, they are not a guarantee of the number of ad impressions that will actually be served.

Forecasts are updated on a weekly basis.
