LiveRamp Data Restrictions
For privacy reasons, LiveRamp has imposed the following restrictions on the types of data that can be included in files.
Warning
Failure to follow these restrictions might result in a violation of your contract terms.
Caution
LiveRamp reserves the right to apply additional restrictions in certain situations if we feel that the use of the data violates any of our policies.
Note
Contact your LiveRamp representative if you have any questions about these restrictions. Exceptions to some of these restrictions can sometimes be made on a case-by-case basis following a review by LiveRamp's Data Ethics team. Contact your LiveRamp representative for more information.
Data Not to Include in Files
Do not include any of the following types of data in any of your files:
Government-issued identification numbers, such as Social Security or driver’s license numbers
Financial or customer account numbers, such as bank account or credit card numbers
An individual's full date of birth, or any combination of date of birth that could be used to recreate a full date of birth
Information regarding an individual's sexual orientation, religion, or some health or medical conditions, including Protected Health Information
Unique biometric data or digital representation of biometric data
The maiden name of an individual's mother
An individual's digitized or other electronic signature
Any combination of information that would permit access to an online account, such as a user name, email address or other unique electronic identifier or routing code which is sent in combination with a personal identification code, password, or security question and answer
Any data associated with an individual's status as a person under 16 years of age
Data LiveRamp Will Not Deliver
In addition to the types of data that cannot be included in files, LiveRamp will not deliver the following types of data:
Personally-identifiable information (PII), such as names
Specific location data (e.g., fine latitude/longitude coordinates)
Data that could easily identify a group of fewer than 25 individuals (e.g., a unique client customer ID or segment values that are unique to fewer than 25 individuals)
Caution
For PII-based measurement files in our Measurement Enablement workflow that are being returned directly to a customer or their partner, LiveRamp will not return data that could easily identify a group of fewer than two individuals.
If more than 5% of the total rows in a PII-based file would be dropped due to failing the privacy check outlined above, that file will be rejected and not delivered to either the customer or their partner.
Any fields you specify as an identifier (like names, addresses, and emails) will automatically be treated as private, and cannot be delivered, including any custom IDs that could be directly tied back to PII.
Caution
The platform you deliver data to might have additional restrictions on the data it will accept. Your LiveRamp representative can provide additional information, if necessary.
