Announcing Changes to Twitter Destination Accounts (3/18/19)

Starting June 30, 2019, Twitter is improving security by requiring OAuth authorization for all data distributions. This will require all customers distributing to Twitter to give LiveRamp permission to send data to their Twitter Ads Account.

For customers with existing distributions to Twitter and for customers who wish to start distributing data to Twitter, this will require the additional actions listed below.

Customers with Existing Distributions to Twitter

Current distributions to Twitter will remain unaffected, but as of June 30 any new distributions or data refreshes for existing distributions will require you to perform an authorization step in the existing Twitter destination account.

Note

API users: This also applies to customers who activated a Twitter destination account via our Distribution API.

Note

Can this be done now? The authorization steps can be performed any time before June 30.

See “Activate a Destination Account for OAuth Destinations” and follow the steps in the “Authorizing After Destination Account Activation” section.

Customers Starting a Distribution to Twitter

When activating a destination account for a new distribution to Twitter, additional steps will need to be performed at the end of the activation process. After performing the steps in “Activate a New Destination Account”, follow the instructions in “Activate a Destination Account for OAuth Destinations”.

For customers who activate a Twitter destination account via our Distribution API, the steps in “Activate a Destination Account for OAuth Destinations” will also have to be performed.
