RampID Identity Resolution

Consumers' consumption behaviors are shifting, data deprecations are happening, and marketers need to future-proof their marketing stack and strategy for post-cookie marketing.

LiveRamp's RampID resolution resolves disparate known and pseudonymous identifiers into individuals or households across digital, mobile, and connected TV into a unified view of the customer into RampID - a person-based pseudonymized view of customers - connecting consumers' offline and online journeys across various touchpoints and devices.

Resolve your known or pseudonymous data with one or more of LiveRamp's person-based activation and measurement solutions to gain insights and efficiencies without relying on third-party cookies:

  • Retrieval API: Allows you to send consumer PII and receive RampIDs via our API. See the Retrieval API documentation for more information.

  • Identity resolution in cloud environments: Allows you to send PII, device IDs, or CIDs and receive RampIDs, all within your cloud environment. See "Embedded Identity in Cloud Environments" for more information.

  • Identity envelope decryption: For ATS customers, allows you to decrypt identity envelopes containing RampIDs through the Retrieval API. See "The Identity Envelope Decryption Endpoint" section of our Retrieval API documentation for more information.

  • RampID mapping files: Allows you to see a mapping between an external identifier (such as a cookie, mobile device ID, connected TV ID, or custom ID) and a RampID. See "RampID Mapping Files" for more information.

  • Sidecar: Allows Supply-Side Platforms (SSPs) to decode the identity Envelopes LiveRamp has provided them into Demand-Side Platform-specific RampIDs and other people-based identifiers that can be used for identification purposes of the underlying browser in RTB bid requests. See "Sidecar" for more information.

  • Client-Side Tag/enhanced Client-Side Tag: Allows you to log user activities (such as page views, adding items to a cart, or completing a transaction) and group them into segments. If you're using the tag for measurement (our File-Based Recognition workflow), these segments can be delivered back to you or your measurement partner in batch files that include the corresponding RampID(s) for the online identifier captured. If you're using the tag for activation, the segments can be automatically imported into LiveRamp Connect, where you can distribute them to your desired destinations. See "LiveRamp's Client-Side Tags" for more information.

  • Real-Time Identity Service Tag: Allows you to track website visits and ad traffic. When the tag fires, LiveRamp will return a RampID to your server endpoint, providing you a people-based identifier that can be used for personalization and measurement use cases. See "Implementing LiveRamp’s Real-Time Identity Service Tag" for more information.

  • Real-Time CID Delivery Tag: Allows you to receive a CID (your platform’s custom ID) in real time when you pass us a user’s cookie via a tag you implement on your website. This allows you to recognize a website user from anonymous site activity, and can be used for retargeting, site personalization, or measurement. See "Implementing LiveRamp's Real-Time CID Delivery Tag" for more information.

  • Local Encoder: Allows you to access the benefits of LiveRamp platforms (such as Connect and Safe Haven) without having to move your consumer data outside of your control. Local Encoder enables you to generate securely-encoded RampIDs for your consumer data within your own cloud environment and then onboard that data into LiveRamp for collaboration, activation, and measurement activities. See "LiveRamp Local Encoder" for more information.
