Sending Data to Advanced TV from Connect

To get data into Advanced TV, you send it (“distribute” it) from your LiveRamp Connect account to your Advanced TV account.

Once the data has been ingested and arrives in your Advanced TV account (usually 1-3 days after distribution), you can find the data in the top-level folders within the builders:

  • If you’ve distributed first-party data, you’ll find the data in the “My Data” folder

  • If you’ve distributed third-party Data Marketplace data, you’ll find the data in the “Data Marketplace Data” folder

Overall Steps

Getting your data into Advanced TV involves these overall steps:

  1. You or your LiveRamp team activates a destination account in Connect to use to send data to your Advanced TV account.

  2. You access the data you want to send:

    • For first-party data, you upload the data into Connect

    • For Data Marketplace data, you request (buy) the data from the Data Marketplace in Connect

  3. You distribute the data using the destination account that was created in the first step.

  4. For first-party data, you create a support case to notify your LiveRamp team that you’ve sent first-party data and that you want it to appear in Advanced TV in the “My Data” folder.

  5. The data is ingested into Advanced TV and appears in the appropriate folder within the builders.

Activating a Destination Account to Send Data

Your LiveRamp team will have created a “destination tile” in Connect with your company name on it for your company’s account in Advanced TV. You can use this destination tile to activate destination accounts to use to send data to your Advanced TV account.

In Connect, a destination account is a set of configurations that allow you to distribute data to a particular seat (or location) at a destination. For distributions to your account in Advanced TV, each destination account can deliver data to a separate folder within the top-level data folders in the builders.

In addition to creating your Advanced TV destination tile, your LiveRamp team might have also set up an initial destination account for you to use to distribute your data to Advanced TV.

Note

In some cases, you might need to activate a destination account yourself before distributing data.

Depending on your situation, you might only need one destination account. You could also use multiple destination accounts to send your data to different subfolders within your “My Data” or “Data Marketplace Data” folders in the builders in Advanced TV. For example, some users prefer to create a separate destination account for each campaign they run so that they can turn off the distribution once the campaign has ended.

Accessing the Data to Send

Before distributing your first-party data, you first need to get the data into Connect. Once your data has been ingested into Connect (which usually takes 1-3 days after uploading), the fields and segments will be available for you to distribute to your Advanced TV account. Before distributing Data Marketplace segments, you first need to request the segments from the Data Marketplace in Connect. For detailed steps on requesting Data Marketplace segments in Connect, see “Buy Segment Data from the Data Marketplace”.

Distributing the Data

Distributing the data to Advanced TV involves going into the destination account created earlier and adding the desired data to distribution. See “Distribute Data to a Destination” for complete instructions.

After you distribute first-party data, you’ll need to create a support case to notify your LiveRamp team that you’ve sent first-party data and that you want it to appear in Advanced TV in the “My Data” folder.

Once you’ve distributed the data, it usually takes 1-3 days for the data to show up in your Advanced TV account.
