Google PAIR Integration

LiveRamp Clean Room's integration with Google PAIR provides customers with improved first-party targeting by enabling advertiser-generated audience targeting on publisher inventory while increasing privacy and safety. We'll review the prerequisites for enabling Google PAIR, as well as the LiveRamp Clean Room integration workflow.

How Google PAIR Works

The advertiser and publisher first-party data is each encrypted three times with three different encryption keys: an advertiser key, a publisher key, and a private shared key between the advertiser and publisher.

These keys are unique for every advertiser-publisher relationship. Each participating entity has access to up to two of the keys, ensuring that no single party can access all three keys simultaneously to decrypt the data back to the original raw ID.

Prerequisites

Contractual Prerequisites

  • The publisher must have a contract with LiveRamp.

  • The advertiser must have a contract with DV360.

Google Technical Infrastructure Prerequisites

  • Real-time lookup table support

  • Real-time bidstream insertion

  • IDs in URL-safe format and Base64-encoded

Overall Steps

The following overall steps need to be performed to execute the Google PAIR integration workflow:

  1. The publisher establishes a LiveRamp Clean Room data connection to access the first-party data for use in activation via PAIR.

    Note

If a data connection already exists, skip to the next step.

  2. The publisher logs into their owned LiveRamp Clean Room account and creates a new clean room, selecting Google PAIR from the list.

  3. The publisher invites the intended advertiser to the clean room via the UI (for instructions, see "Invite a Partner to Your Clean Room").

  4. The publisher configures and saves a first-party dataset for the PAIR clean room.

  5. Once the advertiser accepts the invite, they will need to log into their account.

  6. The advertiser creates a data connection to access first-party user data.

  7. The publisher authors a user list question in Question Builder to define the targetable audience (for instructions, see "Question Builder").

  8. The publisher triggers a run of the user list query to perform encryption and joining of the datasets from the publisher and advertiser.

  9. The advertiser enables the user list output (results of the query) for activation via LiveRamp Clean Room (for instructions, see "Clean Room Activation").

    • The advertiser will need to link their DV360 account with LiveRamp Clean Room.

    • In the Advertiser DV360 UI, the advertiser has to explicitly opt in to account linking.

    • In the LiveRamp Clean Room UI, the advertiser will then be able to link their account.
