Announcement: Data Sellers Have More Control Over Allowlisted Platform Behavior (7/2/24)

We’ve enhanced the transparency of the effect of allowlisting a platform for your custom segments. The new feature now allows data sellers to control whether allowlisted platforms that are also buyers are able to distribute custom segments to themselves.

This new feature is designed to empower data sellers with enhanced functionality, providing greater flexibility and efficiency in managing custom segments.

The default setting for data seller accounts is that any custom segments that you allowlist to a platform can be distributed by that platform to themselves from Connect if they are also a data buyer.

If you want to change the setting for your account so that platforms you’ve allowlisted for custom segments cannot distribute those segments to themselves, create a support case to request that change.

You can view your current platform allowlisting setting by going to the Contract page in your Connect account (for more information, see “View Data Marketplace Contract Information”):

No matter which setting your account has, data buyers who you’ve shared custom segments to can only distribute those to the platforms you’ve allowlisted (either by updating the segment metadata file or in Connect). For more information on distributing custom segments, see "Distribute Custom Segments to Data Buyers".
