Announcing Improved Criteo Distribution Capabilities (6/3/20)
Caution
Update 6/1/21: With Criteo's release of their new version of their segment distribution API, the required actions listed in this article are no longer necessary. See "Announcement: Action Required for Existing Criteo Distributions (6/1/21)" for more information.
We are happy to announce that Criteo and LiveRamp have been working to improve your segment distribution experience. With some minimal action from you, all segments previously distributed to Criteo’s destination on LiveRamp will be transitioned from the current legacy integration to the Criteo Marketing API (“MAPI”). As a result of this transition, you will experience the following benefits.
Faster delivery times: Segments delivered via MAPI are delivered within 24 hours of being sent, rather than the 2 to 3 days it takes now to deliver your segments.
Reduced errors: Requirements on segment naming conventions (such as not being able to include special characters) and other nuances are no longer applicable, reducing the likelihood of oversights leading to delivery delays.
Greater audience visibility: LiveRamp Segments are now visible in Criteo’s Management Center. After you upload and distribute a new segment in LiveRamp, you can then view it within your Criteo dashboard once it’s delivered.
Required Action
To take advantage of these improvements, you’ll need to either update your existing Criteo destination account (now displayed as “Criteo Activation (Legacy)”) with new properties or activate a new Criteo destination account using the new Criteo Activation tile shown in the red box in the image below.
Warning
If any existing Criteo destination accounts are not updated with the required API credentials, those distributions will only be supported until January 2021, at which time they’ll be deprecated.
To update an existing Criteo destination account to use the MAPI:
Create API credentials in Criteo’s Management Center for LiveRamp to use when you distribute a segment to Criteo’s destination by following these instructions.
Edit the destination account properties for your Criteo destination account, and input your API credentials in the “Client ID” and “Client Secret” fields.
Note
LiveRamp will migrate updated distributions to use the new Marketing API periodically. If you would like to migrate to the new integration sooner, delete the existing distribution, and redistribute your data using the instructions below for activating a new Criteo destination account.
To activate a new Criteo destination account that uses the MAPI:
Create API credentials in Criteo’s Management Center for LiveRamp to use when you distribute a segment to Criteo’s destination by following these instructions.
Activate a new destination account for Criteo using the new "Criteo Activation" destination account tile.
