Announcing Upcoming Restrictions on Editing Data Marketplace Segment Prices (4/5/21)

Starting April 19, 2021, LiveRamp will enforce a restriction on editing Data Marketplace segment prices for segments that have been previously distributed. This is to avoid pricing discrepancies in the downstream platforms that segments have been previously distributed to.

The following fields will be blocked from editing:

  • Currency

  • Digital Ad Targeting Price (CPM)

  • Content Marketing Price (CPM)

  • TV Targeting Price (CPM)

  • Cost Per Click

Note

You can continue to edit pricing information for segments that have not been previously distributed. Edits to pricing information for undistributed segments can be made by updating and uploading a segment metadata file or by editing the individual segment information in Connect.

If you want to make edits to segments that have been previously distributed (including edits to pricing information), we continue to recommend that you upload the segments as new segments with the updated information. See “Edit Existing Data Marketplace Segment Information” for complete instructions.

Note

Update 4/12/21: We will also be introducing a process that (under certain conditions and only for destination platforms that allow pricing updates) will allow you to have segment prices updated by creating a case in the LiveRamp Community portal. For more information, see "Edit Existing Data Marketplace Segment Information" starting April 19, 2021.

Restrictions on Segment Metadata File Uploads

When you download a Data Marketplace segment metadata file, we’ll be adding a “Has Been Distributed” column that will be prepopulated with a value of “Yes” for segments that have been previously distributed.

If you make any edits to the pricing columns for those rows, a message will be displayed when you upload the file and those pricing edits will be ignored.

Note

All other segment metadata information will be processed in the usual manner.

Restrictions on Editing Segment Details in the Connect UI

When you open up the side panel for one of your segments on the Data Marketplace - My Segments page, the pricing fields will be disabled:
