Tips to Improve Loading Speed

It's inevitable that there will be some level of decrease in loading speed, however there are definitely some tips and tricks you can do in order to make your CMP load quicker.

Implement Using LaunchPad

If you are also running ATS on your website, you can implement both ATS and Privacy Manager with just one tag through Launchpad, this makes it easier to load even other CMPs through that tag without re-implementation. We highly recommend the LaunchPad implementation as this will make future changes more flexible without having to spend time implementing the tag multiple times.

Enable Preload

Preload is an aggressive method (when combined with inserting the Privacy Manager tag in the <head>) by which you can force a high prioritization for the Privacy Manager script connection. Both Privacy Manager and LaunchPad have a preload function or script that can be implemented in the head of the page. Doing it this way you can place the Privacy Manager or LaunchPad script lower, or even load it even a tag manager. However, the latter also means that the dialog of the CMP can be delayed, but it can definitely improve the initial loading speed of the page.

Only Include Necessary Vendors

We recommend to only include the vendors that are deemed necessary and that you actually work with or collect revenue from. Because we use a ‘filtered’ vendor list in the CMP for loading purposes, only the vendors that are selected will be included in the loading of the CMP, instead of the complete IAB vendor list.

Only Include Necessary Languages

We recommend only including the languages that are viable for your domains. The less languages selected, the less amount of text has to be loaded, thus the quicker the loading speed. For example, if you have 90% visitors from English-speaking countries and 10 to 5% have different mother languages, then we advise only include English text in the CMP. Make sure to refer to the countries' regulation for the CMP language to be sure.
